ABOUT ME

A photo of Nate, the creator of EnterNatement, looking into the camera with a grin.

Hi, I'm Nate!

Welcome to EnterNatement...

My name is Nate and I've been a fan of movies and cinema since I was a little kid. There has never been a better feeling to me than entering a Movie Theater. The studio fanfare setting the stage, the rumbling bass from the neighboring auditoriums, and the reactions of the people you watch with all blend for such an amazing experience, allowing you to escape and explore this new world and meet these interesting characters.

Yeah, I'm a little passionate.

About 10 years ago, I discovered filmmaking and started pursuing that dream. That's another story for another time, but eventually, I discovered movie critics online and a new obsession slowly formed. Ever since I've been sharing my opinions on the movies I watch. Whether it becomes a career or not, I honestly don't think I'll stop. I've actually tried moving on and I find myself right back at my keyboard, typing away.

My point is, I love cinema and I love talking about it. Granted, there's a million others just like me, so really I'm just another guy that wants to talk about movies. And that's okay.

What to Expect on EnterNatement

First and foremost, this website acts as a blog/portfolio for my work.

For the past few years, I've been doing the "YouTube Grind" making video reviews of new movies, trailers, shows, etc. Recently, I've decided to cut down on the time I spend working on videos. That's a different story for a different time, but it led to my decision to focus on written reviews, which take less time. So, I've created a hub to display all of my work. I will post my written reviews on this website, as well as embed my YouTube uploads. I have plans to do even more with it, but for now, I'm keeping it simple. The big plan is to eventually turn this hobby into a career and having a place to see all of my work is an important part of that (hence the portfolio).

That being said, what you can expect on this site is simple:

Reviews of New Releases. Mostly in cinemas, with a possible streaming release or two.

Primarily these reviews will be written, however, if I have the time I will be making videos about bigger releases and those will be embedded here, as well.

Below this paragraph, you will find more information about me, such as my favorite films of all time, the current year, the last year, my most anticipated films, and anything else I think of.

Most importantly, you will also find my rating system, which is a combination of a traditional 5-star rating, and my Rewatch Probability system.

Thank you for visiting my website, reading and/or watching my reviews, following me on social media, and sharing with your friends and family!

I appreciate any and all support that I get!

Rating System

As mentioned, my rating system is a combination of the traditional 5-Star Rating and my own Rewatch Probability System.

Whenever I review a movie, I look at more than its quality as a film. I also consider how I felt watching the film, if it gave me a good time, and if I'd watch it again.

Believe it or not, sometimes a "quality" film isn't something I'd rewatch very often. And vice-versa.

Traditional 5-Star System

The first rating I provide at the end of my reviews is how many "stars" I give the film. Each star is worth 20% (or half-star is worth 10%), so if I think a film is 20% good, it gets One (1) star. If it's 80% good, Four (4) stars, etc. It will always be displayed as the following:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Rewatch Probability

The second rating I provide is my own (at least, I've not seen this anywhere else) Rewatch Probability. Quite simply, this is the probability that I rewatch a given movie. I used to define the probability as Low, Medium, or High. However, I recently decided to define the rating a little more specifically, with the following:

0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% Rewatch Probability.
